Ham and Cheese Scones

Shredded cheddar cheese (1 cup) – Substitute with your favorite cheese. I’ve tried using mozzarella, Monterey Jack, Pepper Jack, or a dairy-free option.

Diced ham (1/2 cup) – You can also use bacon, turkey sausage, or even a vegetarian alternative, like mushrooms.

Chopped green onion (1/3 cup) – Use finely chopped chives, leeks, or shallots.

How to Make Ham and Cheese Scones

Step 1. Preheat your oven to 400F and prepare a large baking sheet by lining it with parchment paper. Grab the butter and place it in the freezer for 10 minutes.

Take out a bowl and add the all-purpose flour, brown sugar, salt, black pepper, baking powder, and baking soda.

Step 2. Give the dry ingredients a good stir.

Step 3. In another bowl, whisk the egg.

Step 4. Now, add the Greek yogurt and milk.

Step 5. Give the wet ingredients a good stir.

Step 6. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients.

Step 7. Use a spatula to combine the ingredients until you get a slightly sticky dough.

Step 8. Remove the butter from the freezer and grate it into the dough.

Step 9. Start kneading the dough until all the butter is incorporated.

Step 10. Add the cheese, ham, and green onion.
